Dr. Irina van Aalst has published on urban nightlife and surveillance, public spaces, and creative industries. She is a supervisor of the research project on ‘Surveillance in Urban Nightscapes’, concentrates on public spaces in night-time entertainment districts and examines the socio-spatial effects of surveillance in these urban districts.
