Jamila Al-Yousef is curating and planning festivals, singing and writing texts on transcultural approaches and non-violent resistance in the Middle East. Born in Berlin on the day when the wall fall Jamila was already breathing some of the revolutionary air around. A strong will to positively affect the world’s injustice through cultural activism was inspired by her Palestinian father who came to Germany as a refugee. She started writing her own songs that merge soul, funk, singersongwriter, pop and disco styles. After music studies in London and Hildesheim, she’s back to Berlin for a wile.
